Chargers Agree to Trio of Signings; Add Cornelius Brown, Deon Butler and Dan DePalma

Posted Apr 8, 2013

The San Diego Chargers today announced they have agreed to terms with WR Deon Butler, WR Dan DePalma and CB Cornelius Brown.

The San Diego Chargers agreed to a trio of signings today as General Manager Tom Telesco continues to add depth across the board.  Joining the team is cornerback Cornelius Brown as well as a pair of wide receivers in Deon Butler and Dan DePalma. Brown and Butler will sign one-year deals while DePalma agreed to a two-year contract.

Brown is a player Telesco is familiar with as he has spent parts of his first two seasons in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts.  He appeared in 10 games in 2010 with the Colts, recording 24 tackles and three passes defensed. The 5-foot-11, 198-pound defensive back out of Texas-El Paso has also spent time with the Chicago Bears.

Butler was a third-round draft pick out of Penn State by the Seattle Seahawks in 2009.  A speedster who clocked in a 4.38 40-yard dash time at the scouting combine, he spent parts of the last four years with the club.  The 5-foot-10, 182-pound Butler has caught 57 passes for 611 yards and four touchdowns over his career.

DePalma is a 5-foot-11, 192-pound receiver out of West Chester who has spent time with both the New York Jets and New York Giants.  The hard working wideout was a member of the Giants practice squad when they won Super Bowl XLVI.

Now, you can stay in touch with the team anytime, anywhere, on your mobile device with the official app of the San Diego Chargers.
