The San Diego Chargers offseason schedule was announced today as they prepare for their first season under new head coach Mike McCoy.
It all kicks off on Monday with the beginning “phase one,” which is a two week program limited to strength and conditioning and physical rehabilitation only. That is followed by “phase two,” which is a three-week stint encompassing on-field workouts that may include individual player instruction and drills as well as team practice conducted on a “separates” basis. No live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills are permitted.
The Bolts will host a voluntary minicamp, something they are allowed to do since they have a new coaching staff, from April 16-18. The mandatory minicamp will take place from June 11-13.
Lastly, each NFL club may hold a rookie football development program for a period of seven weeks, which in 2013 may begin on May 13. There can also be one post-NFL Draft rookie minicamp, which may be conducted on either the first or second weekend following the draft. The dates of the post-draft rookie minicamps will be circulated at a later date.
