The San Diego Chargers held their Rookie Minicamp over the weekend, which provided participants with a crash course orientation for life in the NFL, and most importantly, life as a Charger.
Previewing the minicamp, we provided a cheat sheet roster of all rookies in attendance. On Friday, Chargers.com provided an exclusive photo gallery and a snapshot video of the first day of minicamp. You can find the video of the rookies out on the field right here.
Afterward, Head Coach Mike McCoy addressed the media and said how he was impressed by the rookies, who looked crisp and comfortable. In particular, McCoy singled out first-round draft choice D.J. Fluker, who he called a leader out on the practice field. Another player who impressed was Manti Te'o, who preached how hard work beats talent and discussed his intense work ethic. On the second day of minicamp, we discussed the bond between Allen and collegiate teammate Steve Williams, who were drafted back-to-back out of California. You can find video of Allen, Williams and the rest of the draft class out on the field right here.
Finally, on Saturday we also reported on a pair of undrafted rookie defensive tackles, Kwame Geathers and Byron Jerideau, who are getting an opportunity to impress Bolts brass.
