Q: I like the poll question on Chargers.com. What will you remember most about 2013? – Tarvin Wardchark
A: Personally, I’ll always remember the two road wins in Kansas City and Denver. Winning a road game in general is hard, but doing so on the road against teams who had yet to lose at home all season was quite memorable. I’ll also never forget the way we won those games and my vantage point when
Q: How close has the locker room grown from training camp til the last game in Denver? – Tyler Piper
A: The Chargers were close at the beginning of the year, but they grew a whole lot tighter by the end of the season. That is what will inherently happen when you play 22 games (including preseason and the playoffs) and go through the battles together. There were a lot of hugs in the locker room following the loss to Denver followed by a lot of long embraces and words of encouragement the next day. To sum it up, the 2013 Chargers were as tight a group as I’ve ever seen, which bodes well for the future.
Q: How did the Chargers decide so quickly on hiring Frank Reich as offensive coordinator?– Robert Garcia
A: General Manager Tom Telesco said the team knew if they had success this season that they would probably lose Ken Whisenhunt to a head coaching job which is exactly what happened. But just like everything else, Head Coach Mike McCoy had a plan in place. The Bolts leadership has said they are “fortunate” and “lucky” to have someone of Reich’s ilk and intelligence in house. They also value the continuity he will bring to the team in 2014.
