In fact, the groundwork for this year’s raft began just a month after the 2012 draft ended. Scouts begin their prep work on which players they want to assess then hit the ground running once college football season begins traveling all over the country to watch games and evaluate prospects. During that time, the scouting staff will grade the players and then use the annual NFL Scouting Combine in February to confirm their grades for each of their prospects.
