Eric Ebron is the type of tight end that is all the rage in the NFL these days. He is a special athlete with freakish gifts that can be a game changer each and every Sunday.

Need proof? Look no further than his sensational 2013 season when Ebron set the ACC single season record for receiving yards by a tight end with 973 yards. Not only did he set the new record, he bested Vernon Davis’ previous record of 871 by over 100 yards. As a result he was named a second-team All-American and was a John Mackey Award semifinalist as the top tight end in the nation.  Over three years with the Tar Heels, Ebron caught 112 balls for 1805 yards, averaging 16.1 yards per catch, along with eight touchdowns.

Ebron is a dangerous deep threat weapon and is equally as dangerous with his run after the catch ability.  He is explosive in everything he does, whether it is his initial burst off the line of scrimmage or acceleration to separate from defenders.  The 6-4, 250-pounder has a wide catch radius, making circus plays look routine.

One area Ebron needs to work on is his consistency.  For every sensational play he makes, he far too often drops easy routine catches. If he is able to cut down on his drops, and becomes a better blocker, many believe Ebron could find himself a perennial Pro Bowler in no time.
