Vote Rivers FedEx Player of the Week

Posted Dec 29, 2009

Once again, Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers is one of three candidates for the FedEx Air Player of the Week award.

After a nearly flawless performance Friday night in Nashville, Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers is one of three candidates for the FedEx Air Player of the Week.

To vote for Rivers, click here.

In Friday’s game at Tennessee, Rivers completed 21 of 27 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns. In leading the Chargers to a 42-17 win, he capped off a fourth-consecutive perfect month of December. As a starting quarterback, Rivers is 18-0 in December and he has passed for 4,070 yards, 33 touchdowns and just 10 interceptions for a December passer rating of 100.6.

Rivers is among the hottest players in the NFL right now. He has thrown a touchdown pass in 12-straight games. Rivers has been sensational during the team’s 10-game winning streak, in which it went from 3.5 games behind division-leading Denver to an AFC West title and the No. 2 seed in the AFC Playoffs. Rivers has done it by completing 69.4% of his passes (200 of 288) for 2,636 yards and a rating of 112.6 while throwing 20 touchdown passes and only six interceptions. His passer rating over the last 10 weeks is highest in the NFL, while his completion percentage is third.

Now, you can stay in touch with the team anytime, anywhere, on your mobile device with the official app of the San Diego Chargers.
