Spanos received rave reviews for the team’s decision to lower the price of 6,500 seats going into the 2011 season, providing Chargers fans with more of the most affordable NFL tickets in the country while also easing the path to additional sellouts and live local telecasts. Also under his direction, the team implemented its first Law Enforcement Appreciation Night at a game in 2010 and brought in internationally renowned Foreigner to perform free of charge for fans in the parking lot before the game.

Spanos was responsible for the development and implementation of the Chargers' new logo and marks in 2007, including new uniforms. He coordinated efforts with the stadium concessionaire to launch the opening of the Chargers Team Store at Qualcomm Stadium and he has worked closely with the merchandise partners who supply the store as well as the team’s Online Pro Shop at Chargers.com. In 2002, Spanos founded "Chargers Auction,” which offers official Chargers merchandise and team-worn memorabilia online. The program has raised more than $450,000 for charity. A.G. has served on the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors for the San Diego Hall of Champions Sports Museum since 2005. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Chamber of Commerce and the San Diego Police Foundation.

In June 2010, in recognition of his achievement in business and community leadership, Spanos was named one of the "Top 40 Under 40" Greek Americans by Greek America Magazine. Before joining the Chargers full-time in 2001, Spanos assisted the director of strategic planning for NFL Europe’s London office, analyzing market research for the entire league. While a student at the University of Southern California, he also spent one summer at the NFL office in New York assisting the business operations department.

Spanos earned a Bachelor's degree in marketing from the Marshall School of Business at USC. He spent one summer completing an internship at KFMB-TV in San Diego as a production manager. He played football as a freshman at Tufts University in Medford, Mass.

Spanos was born in Stockton, Calif., and currently resides in La Jolla. A.G. is the oldest son of team President Dean Spanos and his wife Susie. He attended La Jolla Country Day School in La Jolla where he lettered in football and basketball.
